ELMO

My first Stafford.  I waited years to be able to add a dog to my life, and finally was able to adopt Elmo from a rescuer in Michigan.  After I'd convinced her I was a worthy home (and I'm glad she was picky!), Elmo was shipped to me here in Portland, Oregon.  He arrived May 23, 2000.

Elmo's birthdate was July 7th, 1996, so as I write this, he is 13 years old.  He's starting to slow down a bit, but still the goofy fun-loving dog I fell in love with on his arrival day.  He had a successful career as my first competition dog in obedience, agility, and weight pull, but now is retired to holding down the couch, and working on his stick collection.
